Nick

That's too bad.

Why can't something worthless like Garfield go away instead of this insightful and funny strip?

First Calvin and Hobbes, now Foxtrot. Seems good stuff never lasts long while mediocrity is forever.

Anne

My thoughts exactly - why must the best work run only briefly in the great scheme of things, while trash runs forever and forever?

I can only hope that Bill Amend will produce something else as inspired in some other media perhaps, but without Calvin, I delighted in my daily dose of Jason Fox and will miss it sorely.

Chris

I also agree. There are several cartoons that no one would miss, but we just keep losing the good ones: Calvin and Hobbes, The Boondocks, now Foxtrot.

BILL

Sheeeeeeeeesh !!! They were like family, I had brakfast with them every day !!!

Mike

Trash endures because trash is easy to write. Calvin and Hobbs, The Boondocks, Foxtrot quality is hard to keep up forever, and rather than dilute it, the wise man will let it die in its prime.

Dushall

Please don't forget Bloom County. One of my all time favorites. All others mentioned are in the same beloved group. Fox Trot will be sadly missed.

jarrod

Im really upset about
foxtrot going to a Sunday only strip. Im only 11 so i havent read all of the early comics so at least there will be some dailies that i have not read yet. As some people said up there first Calvin and Hobbes (which i have about 8 books of) and now Foxtrot I just dont understand

foxtrot

Sid

This sucks. All my favorite strips are dying out.

Deven

So what you are all saying is that Bill should continue to satisfy you guys and not give a single thought to himself? Hmmm sounds selfish to me. All great things must come to an end. Times and seasons change, there will be many more great comics to come along. Love what you have while you have it. Remember it once it is gone.

Monte

While I do have to respect Bill's right to what he wants, I still miss it.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!1

Mike

First of all, I'd like to thank Mr. Amend for so many years of entertainment. I wish him all the best. You've brighten up my mundane days and made me look forward to something in the daily newspapers.

I've enjoyed reading your comic, Mr. Amend. I'll be sorry to see it go to once a week. However, after nearly twenty years, I can understand why you want to take a break. Comic readers around the world thank you for all the laughs. Best of luck to you in all your future endeavours.

Cheers

Blake

P.S. - your ability to make fun of other comic strips is spot on.

Gus Crosse

This is terrible, FoxTrot, is the first thing is read when i get in the office everyday, it will be devastating.
Thanks for all the great laughs.

Bummer... Nuff said...

Brian Skinner

Too bad...After a little break, you know he will be back with another strip...hope it is soon...

Wesley Zimmerman

I think we should all remember that this great stuff he is putting out isnt over, he is just backing off to try something else. He may create something even better down the road but we wont know until he tries. Accept the Sunday Foxtrot as the sandwich mom gives you so you wont die before dinner. Enjoy it and wait for the big one that is coming up.

Rich G

I was just thinking the other day, I like Fox Trot more than Calvin & Bloom County. Hmm, maybe I was finally getting over the grieving from their loss!!

Lucas G

I too would like to thank Mr. Amend, I really enjoyed foxtrot all this time and will continue to (avidly) read the classics, and the new sundays. Good luck with your future endeavors, and we all look forward to your next big thing like Jason would another Star Wars release!

Phoenix Malizia

I'm going to miss the brilliance with which he created and developed Jason Fox - a nerd in the truest sense, brilliant in computers, math, and chess, with an undying love for Star Trek, Star Wars, D&D, and WoW; one must wonder how much of Jason it was that Bill Amend drew from himself, for could he have made the character so complete without personal knowledge of those geeky topics that interest Jason? And how I'll miss the occasional Nerd Search and Sudorku puzzles, which to me are further evidence of Bill's mathematical aptitude.

Nick

I would like to thank Bill Amend again for a gread ride with FoxTrot. I have been reading this comic faithfully since 1998 and have every book, so thank you. As said before, all great things must end.

Gordon

Man, they were my favorite. now thers only a few good ones left. the rest are things that dont even make sense

Danial

Bill knows when to get out. Jim Davis lost his creative spark YEARS ago.

Christine

Thanks for all the good times I've had with the Fox family, and thanks for the funny Sundays to come.

Merry Christmas, mr. Amend!

Johan

Big bummer. But I prefer it this way 1 M times, compared to seeing the quality go.
