A few years back my brother commisssioned, (is that right, "commissioned"?)-- the alternative comic book legend Johnny Ryan to draw a portrait of me for my birthday.
Now, I think Johnny's effort here is incredible but I did want to point out some historical inaccuracies/fun facts about this art:
1. We syndicate neither Andy Capp nor Dick Tracy.
2. I have never worn a beard, much less grown one.
3. HR insists that I draw some pants on the Ziggy/Charlie Brown hybrid in the yellow shirt. I refused. I am nothing w/o my principles.
4. Johnny drew what appears to be Kahlua in the coffee cup. I'd NEVER drink Kahlua in a coffee cup at my desk. I have a snifter I use.
