When I first heard about the Attack of the Volcano Monkeys, I thought it was a euphemism for heartburn. Much to my delight, I was wrong. Volcano Monkeys is a graphic novel by Wiley Miller the award-winning Mainite and creator of the smash-hit comic strip, Non Sequitur.
Volcano Monkeys is the second book based on the Ordinary Basil character. Basil first enchanted newspaper readers back toward the beginning of this century when gas was almost $3!
Anyway, if you've got $10.19 ... you must buy this book ... and the first one too. Wiley's linework is pretty much the best in the industry (with apologies to Pepe's Moco) and he weaves a great tale.
BTW: I like to pronounce Basil as "BAZ-el" as in Basil Rathbone who was a tremendous performer back in the day. It gives you sort of snotty British tone and will make people standing around you think better of you. "Rathbone" is also a fun name to say when your spirits are low.

I have the first book (which is pretty sweet), but for some reasons my local bookstores didn't stock this one. Hmm.
