Comics Sherpa Comes to GoComics!

Comics Sherpa, the premier site for up-and-coming cartoonists, has received a big upgrade over the last few weeks and is now live, new and improved. And now for the first time ever, Comics Sherpa cartoons are being made available to all of our registered GoComics members - you can browse the titles, tag and comment on each comic and even add the titles you like to your comics pages!

All of these new features are designed to make the site a better value for our Sherpa cartoonists as well as a fun destination for GoComics users. So take a moment each day to check out the rising talents on Comics Sherpa and add these up-and-coming cartoonists to your comics page!

Amazon Comic Strip Superstar Winner Announced!

The final votes have been tallied, and the winner of the first ever Amazon Comic Strip Superstar contest is: Dana Simpson, whose charming submission, Girl, took a lead early in the voting and never let go, despite a late push by the eventual runner-up. Congratulations, Dana!

Dana's winnings include a book deal with Andrews McMeel Publishing, online distribution on GoComics.com, and a development deal with Universal Uclick.

Congrats to all of the finalists in the Amazon Comic Strip Superstar contest. This certainly shouldn't be the last we hear from this group of amazingly gifted cartoonists. And once again, big congrats to Dana Simpson for winning the contest and introducing us all to the enchanted world of Girl!

New Comic: Bewley!

The strip focuses on the day-to-day lives of a family of blue birds. The hero, husband and father, the ever-optimistic Bewley, is consistently undermined by the shenanigans of his over-protective wife and twins Bea and Tonus. Only Coco the egg lets him really express himself. The strip is as bright and enthusiastic as Bewley himself.

New Comic: Angry Eyebrows!

From the wildly creative mind of Corey Pandolph comes a new daily comic unlike anything you've ever seen before.

Finding that the demands of three web comics (Barkeater Lake, Toby Robot Satan and Greene With Envy), plus the newspaper-syndicated The Elderberries daily comic strip combined were pushing him to the brink of insanity, Corey's manic brain hatched a plan - one that would allow him to continue to create stories starring his beloved creations, but with a schedule that wouldn't cause his skull to explode. And so Angry Eyebrows - a strangely self-aware web comic that shines the spotlight on three very diverse comic strip casts (and even the creator who gave birth to them) - was born.

Angry Eyebrows replaces Greene With Envy, which will now be absorbed into the AE daily strip along with new stories starring the Barkeater Lake crew and the cast of Toby Robot Satan.

And for longtime fans of Barkeater Lake and Toby, great news: both strips are being re-run from the beginning on their respective pages, starting with today's installments! (Re-runs of Barkeater Lake will also occasionally be enhanced by Corey's commentary!)

Having heard some of Corey's ideas for Angry Eyebrows, we're very excited to see where Corey takes the concept. One thing is certain - like Corey himself, this new strip will be anything but predictable! Be sure to check out Angry Eyebrows daily on GoComics.com.
