The Cleveland Plain Dealer has achieved the near-impossible and scored an interview with Bill Watterson - you know, the Calvin and Hobbes cartoonist, who created one of the most beloved comic strips of all time, retired at the top of his game and then pulled off a vanishing act that would make Howard Hughes proud. That guy.
And though the article says the interview is believed to be Watterson's first since 1989, we'll remind you that Watterson was interviewed by fans to celebrate the release of The Complete Calvin and Hobbes in 2005. The 3-volume Complete Calvin is also home to a very lengthy (by Watterson standards) piece the creator wrote ten years after the strip ended.
