Lalo Alcaraz was on LATINO USA on National Public Radio this weekend, with a nice segment about Arizona and his artistic response...listen for the shout-out to Ernesto Yerena and "Arizona Gonna Git Knocked Out!"
(credit where credit is due - I didn't write this. I took Lalo's informative email and changed some pronouns. Anything I might have done aside from that would just have made it boring. You're welcome, internet readership!)
If you're in the area, GO! If you have any trouble with the image, it's a show on Friday (this Friday! July 30th!) from 6-8 PM at Galeria de la Raza (2857 24th St., San Francisco, CA 94110) called "Lalo Alcaraz Presente! When the Graphic Artist Defines Politics."
Well the dust has settled, the swords have been put away and the stars have made the trip back to Hollywood. All in all it was a fantastic week for new and old comics fans alike. For GoComics fans it was a chance to see many of the creators that they follow on a daily basis, and some walked away with great prizes.
Our grand prize winner of a framed First and Last Calvin and Hobbes was Jennifer Johnson. We saw her later lugging the prize through the Gas Lamp district but she confirmed it was worth it. Even if you couldn’t win the contest you can still get your own first and last framed print here.
The big RT Twitter contest winner was Lynn Savage who helped spread the word in the Twitt-o-sphere.
More pictures from the show are on the way, stay tuned. And a big thanks again to all of the creators who joined us at the GoComics booth and made the show such a success.

Steve Breen has posted some fantastic cartoons about the BP spill this week. Those who've seen them have probably noticed the striking use of color in his depictions of oil. Thing is, that's not just a color - it's the real deal. As in oil. From the BP oil spill.
Man oh man, every time I see that Amy Sedaris clip and she says "Animals Love Snacks" I LOL. That's some efficient comedy.
