Good Knight, San Fransisco!

 

Not only is the above Knight Life strip chucklesome, it's also voraciously veracious, which is to say, true. Keef and his flippant hip hop combo (all the cool kids inside my head call it "flip hop,") Marginal Prophets played a reunion gig a few weeks back. And while  they certainly wowed the audience with their sadly unpatented brand of humorous beats, Keef also delivered a bracing moment of painful "reality" when his Achilles tendon decided it couldn't handle the noise.

 

Here's a pre-injury, not-for-kids clip of the Prophets in action, from K2's blog. And Keith, if you're reading this, the company insurance DOES NOT cover helper monkeys. You'll have to pay for those bananas yourself.

A big UU Congrats and thank you to Wiley Miller as today marks the 12th anniversary of our blessed association with Non Sequitur. Oh sure, people will be chiming in left and right about how Non Sequitur was already around a long time before it came to Universal and while they're correct, I'd prefer not to acknowledge them. Sort of like the guy in the men's room who's always whistling. We all know you're there, but there's no way we're making eye contact.

I've rarely seen a comic that nails the mother/teenage son relationship better than this Buckets. Or mother/30something son, really. I remember last week I tried to interest my Moms in a sure-fire scheme to make money by raising yaks in our carport -- no dice whatsoever. And she says I never apply myself!

Stone Soup in Haiti

There's a really interesting storyline going in "Stone Soup" right now. Evie Stone is in Haiti building houses. The character also has a Facebook page with updates about her life in Haiti and her adventures. This series is based on the time "Stone Soup" creator Jan Eliot spent in Haiti, and it's been a fascinating read so far. This is a pretty good place to start.
