In honor of our favorite bald, pantless little man's 41st birthday, we're giving away three Ziggy comic collections. Hip, hip, hooray!
Wanna win? Leave a comment, on this blog entry, telling us why you adore this lovable loser. You have one week until the contest ends (12pm CST, Thursday, July 5th). We will randomly select three commenters, each will win one Ziggy book. Winners will be announced right here on the blog and throughout our social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and G+) at 2pm CST that day.
Good luck and happy commenting!
*This contest is open to US and Canada residences only. (Sorry!)

I love him because he's so undeterred. Stumbles along in life, no matter how many setbacks. He's so sweet, really... :-)

My introduction to Ziggy was on a "shopping trip" with my great-grandmother. We went into a thrift store and my attention fell on a little hand-held Ziggy doll. I hugged it and felt so connected with its energy. When I asked my Momma (my great-grandmother) if I could have it, she smiled and bought it for me. I carried it everywhere and because of that I eventually lost it. Every time I see the name "Ziggy" or his picture, I think of my long-lost doll and have emotional experiences because Momma transitioned into eternity in 2004. What I know of Love, I learned from Momma and I wish I still had my Ziggy doll to feel that connection all over again.

Ziggy is one of the first comic strips I remember reading as a small child. So Ziggy brings me back to my childhood and some happy memories!

Ziggy makes you think about your own LIFE, appreciate what you have now, and what you had. He is a lot like the Pillsbury DoughBoy and Charlie Brown. Where you just want to hug him and say THANK YOU!He just RANKS up there with BEST of the BEST !!

I can relate to what he goes through. Also, Tom Wilson lived in Cincinanti, and he would throw in some local references. They were funny without knowing the context, but they were funnier when you did know the context.

Ziggy is awesome! He leads a very interesting and fun life, and he is one of the best comic characters ever! Every time I read comics in the newspaper, I always read the Ziggy comics first. It is truly amazing how in just one small comic strip box, Ziggy is able to create a lot of humor. Happy Birthday Ziggy!

Ziggy doesn't need to invent storylines to be funny. It is just about life.

Love Ziggy. The comics were simple but filled with wisdom. I was devastated when my local tabloid paper stopped carrying him.

Ziggy is my hero! He is so philosophical and every strip has a message! I used to have several of his strips posted on the wall next to my desk - like the one about being a guy who learns from his mistakes...after all there are plenty of other mistakes out there waiting to be made! LOVE HIM!

A dear friend of mine is Ziggy's number 1 fan. She has Ziggy's everywhere, she is 43 and has lived a hard life, she had physical problems growing up an was horribly teased and bullied, but she is the sweetest, kindest person I have ever met she is also very intelligent. Throughout her life sometimes Ziggy was her only comfort, like Ziggy, she was a misfit and to this day she keeps her Ziggys close by. I would love to win these books for her because I know it would be the greatest thing ever for her. Patrycia

While Ziggy has lousy luck, he also has the ability to see past most of what everyone else accepts as normal. I like Ziggy because he's NOT everyman.

What I like best about Ziggy is the drawing. Very distinctive (and still very seventies!)

I love Ziggy. I really like his pets, and their interaction. Ziggy is everyone, "Mr. Average Joe". You can really "get" his troubles, and his POV.

I love Ziggy because as a young kid of 5 years old who loved cartooning and I knew even then that this was my calling, Ziggy was the one strip that I could read. Ziggy has remained a great influence on my cartooning to this very day and I feel he has withstood the tests of time.
