David Whamond found the answer to the mystery and utter annoyance behind the rogue carts at the grocery store, which always seem to find you. Gnomes are the culprits behind those dreadful carts. I always imagined some factory owner, with a sick sense of humor, producing all these terrible carts to irritate people who participate in the American consumer culture. No, you can thank the little gremlins -- I mean gnomes -- for all those noisy, shaky and directionally challenged carts you come across at stores.
The worst part about these uncooperative and indiscreet carts is that when you are behind one, you somehow feel like its noisiness is your fault. You feel like you are to blame for purposefully selecting and pushing the cart that makes the awful racket. Well, rest assured. It’s not your fault … it’s the gnomes’ doing!
How many of you have an embarrassing or particularly annoying experience with a cart? Tell us about it below.
