Hello from Belmont Elementary!
Today we are talking about writing a blog post. When I read Sunday's Big Nate, I thought it would be a really great strip to write about and share with the fifth graders visiting Mrs. Walker today.
I'm not a huge football fan, but my brothers are. I try to know what's going on in the NFL so I can join in on their conversations. Once I read Chad's fantasy team name, I realized that's what would motivate me to pay more attention: fun names and cute mascots!
I asked the students what they thought. Some of their ideas are...
-- Puppy dogs (that's mine)
-- Pink fluffy unicorns -- Aspen
-- Chameleons -- Jack
-- Quadricorns -- Aubree
-- Waterbears -- Sam
-- Pandacorns -- Taylor
-- Bandicoots -- TJ
-- Doughnuts -- Sydney
-- Cornhuskers -- Noah
-- Purple Dragon Sing-a-long Friends -- Dylan and Cale
Any other ideas? Am I overlooking a team with a great name/mascot combination?
How about the ELEPANTS? (elephants who wear pants)

U came 2 our school Yesterday. I think there should be a team named called the Pink Sparkles!!! Oh, and w/ glitter. CANT FORGET THE GLITTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more name I really like is Kryptonite. I know it sounds like the Kryptonites would be weak, but it means that the people playing against them would be weak.:)
