The countdown begins -- 22 days till Christmas. This is the time of year when Santa is paying extra-close attention to our behavior.
I have always found, however, the “be on your best behavior” saying to be a bit subjective. What is the definition of good behavior? It’s different for everyone.
On top of all the dissimilar meanings, you get into a real bind when you throw natural disposition into the mix. For some, being “good” comes without effort. For others, like our dear friend Garfield, being “good” is a bit more challenging and a whole lot less entertaining.
I’d like to take a different approach to this whole coal-is-bad notion. Coal has powered the modern world since the Industrial Revolution. It has heated and lit countless homes and businesses, providing for the evolved and productive society that we now appreciate. Today, coal is a hot commodity -- it accounts for nearly 50 percent of all the United States’ electricity production.
So I say embrace your “bad” side like Garfield and ask Santa for some coal. Here are a couple other individuals who also think coal is great gift option.
