This week's pick comes from our Editor, Josh: Remember that movie that came out last summer, with Mark Wahlberg as kind of a middle-aged loser who had never really grown up, living with his loud, crude talking teddy bear? Funny concept, right? Well, WAAAAAAAAAAY before Seth MacFarlane made "Ted" (seriously, years and years before), Lucas Turnbloom was making a hilarious comic strip called Imagine THIS, about a middle aged loser who had never really grown up, living with his loud, crude talking teddy bear. And "nobody does it better than the original" definitely holds up in this case: Lucas' strip is way better than that movie.
Hapless, unemployed graphic designer Darin lives in his father's basement with scheming Clovis the Teddy Bear and daft Dewey the Dinosaur, his childhood pals who just happen to be talking stuffed animals. Leprechauns, Klingons, Robert (the) Plant and Clovis' nemesis, evil Heinrich "Snuggle" Evilnuggen are just a few of the memorable supporting characters that have sprung from Lucas' (or is it Darin's?) fertile mind. The recipe for Imagine THIS is a dash of traditional comic strip mixed with a heaping spoonful of anything goes, so every day you're in for gut-busting fun.
Imagine THIS posts twice a week on GoComics.
