I have a deep passion for learning about different cultures and my ultimate goal is to travel to all seven continents before the curtains close. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to 13 different countries before the age of 21, which has fostered my love of food, language, literature, art, religions and all things wonderful. Every time I return home from abroad, I’m not the same person as before. I have literally acquired world experience; I am a more educated person.
That being said, I am a gigantic fan of Anthony Bourdain, because when I’m not able to quench my thirst for cultural education abroad, Bourdain’s shows make my wanderlust a little more bearable. He started as a wayward line chef on the East Coast and worked his way up to become one of the world’s top culinary voices. Now he educates foodies and culture lovers everywhere with wit and sarcasm, through his TV shows and books. I’ve watched his shows (No Reservations, The Layover, and Parts Unknown) for years now and read some of his books (Kitchen Confidential and Medium Raw) and think that the man is an absolute genius.
Turns out, I’m not the only Bourdain fan in the GoComics family. Stephan Pastis, creator of Pearls Before Swine (and somebody just as fabulous in terms of wit and knowledge) is a fan too. Here is yesterday’s strip:
Pastis tweeted this tribute to Bourdain and he replied! The lovefest was shared by their fans, with the comment and Pastis’ artwork being retweeted 600 times and favorited over 500 times:
Whom would you like to see immortalized in comic strip form … and in what strip? Let us know!
