This week's pick comes from our editor, Ryan: Frazz has been a favorite of mine for a while now. The art style always draws me in, and the lovable, quirky characters are full of surprises even though they live in a sedate small town.
I really like the title character because he's the epitome of down-to-earth. He lives on his own terms, holding a low-stress job that pays just enough to allow him to spend most of his free time biking, running and swimming. He's never uptight or condescending, which is why all the kids in the school think the world of him.
Apart from Frazz himself, one of my favorite characters is Caulfield, a student at the school where Frazz works. He's a really smart kid whose constant questions get him into frequent hot water, but his musings are always good for a chuckle:
I guess "thoughtful" would be the word I'd choose if someone asked me to sum up the strip in a single word, but that single word works on a lot of levels. That's exactly why it's the perfect word for Frazz.
