If you’ve ever taken a road trip, you may know that they often turn out a bit like this:
And sometimes, by the time you reach your destination, you resemble this:
I set out on a road trip last week, and, to my delight, my experience didn’t fit either of those scenarios. Making the 10-hour trek from northern Colorado to Kansas City, I had the luxury of being a passenger rather than the driver.
So when we came way too close to running out of gas, it wasn’t my fault.
After being relieved of my duty as co-pilot (ahem), I had the rest of the trip to do nothing other than relax. It was refreshing to see the landscape and open fields that I don’t experience often living in the middle of a city. As many Midwesterners know, Kansas may be flat, but it is filled with beautiful sunflower fields.
My only complaint? The spotty cellphone service. I missed my GoComics Mobile App!
