A bowl of cereal may be the quickest option for any meal. Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, it takes no time to pour a bowl of cereal topped with milk (and a little fruit, if you’re looking for a nutritional bonus!).
Though it may be easy to prepare, cereal can be quite controversial. Some prefer their cereal to swirl around in milk for a few minutes, making it soggy and easy to swallow. Others are repulsed by this thought, and can only eat cereal when it’s at its prime crunchiness.
And when the cereal is gone, there’s a whole new debate: Should one drink the remaining milk, or should it be thrown out?
It’s National Cereal Day, and we know of one 6-year-old who is certainly celebrating. Calvin, who quite possibly consumes more cereal than any other cartoon character, has strict requirements for a perfect bowl of cereal.
So Calvin, what goes into a scrumptious serving of cereal?
1. Sugar, sugar and more sugar.
2. Bright, vibrant and fun flakes.
3. Milk for slurping.
4. A little “snap, crackle and pop.”
5. A prize.
